The annual Spring Championship meet drew the fastest swimmers in each age group from Alabama, Tennessee and the Florida panhandle.

He earned five individual and two relay medals, finishing second place in the 50 butterfly, fourth in the 50 breaststroke, fourth in the 100 individual medley, sixth in the 50 backstroke and seventh in the 100 breastroke.
