2018 Southeastern Short Course Championships

Sixteen TNT swimmers competed at the 2018 Southeastern Short Course Championships, held February 23 - 25 in Huntsville, AL. The team had an outstanding meet, finishing an all - time high 12th place in combined team scoring with 549 points. TNT swimmers scored in every age group, sending 7 swimmers to championship finals and winning 9 individual events. TNT swimmers accounted for 21 Improved Time Standards (8 AAAA, 7 AAA, 5 AA, 1 A), 28 New Team Records and 71 Improved Times.
Levenia Sim became the first swimmer in team history
to win the Southeastern Championship Outstanding
Female Swimmer Award. Her time of 27.75 in the 50
yard backstroke, scored 982 USA Swimming Power
Points (11 year old age bracket) and was the
highest female power point score of the meet.
Levenia also finished first place in 3 events, including
the 11 - 12 girls 100 fly, 100 IM and 50 back.
Letitia Sim won the meet's 13 - 14 girls high point
trophy, scoring 114 points in 6 individual events.
Letitia won four events, finishing first place in the 100
breaststroke, 100 butterfly, 200 butterfly, and 400 IM.
Letitia is only the third TNT swimmer to win a high
point award at the Southeastern Championships.
Letitia also achieved two new Junior National
qualifyig times in the 200 butterfly and 400 IM.
Dane Goodman scored in all of his individual events
and finished first place in the 10 & under boys 50 and 100 backstrokes. Dane also set three new team records in the 50 back, 50 free and 100 butterfly. His team record in the 50 freestyle was the oldest TNT team record to date, previously established in September of 2005.
Trey Sheils scored in five of his six events, establishing six new TNT team records in the 15 - 16 age group. Trey's times in the 50 freestyle and 200 IM were both new Junior National qualifying times.
